From the makers of the 2005 Oscar-winner for Best Picture, Crash, comes Haven - a gritty tale of love, revenge and greed arriving on DVD December 26th from Fox Home Entertainment for the suggested retail price of $27.98.

The first feature film shot entirely in the tropical paradise of the Cayman Islands, Haven features an all-star cast led by Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean), Bill Paxton (HBO’s “Big Love,” Twister), Zöe Saldana (Guess Who?), Anthony Mackie (Million Dollar Baby), Joy Bryant (Antwone Fisher), Stephen Dillane (The Hours) and Victor Rasuk (Lords of Dogtown).

Heralded by the New York Post as a “deliciously complex story,” Haven is an edgy, suspenseful, viscerally gripping ensemble film in which unconnected lives intersect and ignite a violent chain of events that turns tranquility into chaos.  Marking the feature film writing/directing debut of 24 year-old native Caymanian Frank E. Flowers, Haven was based on his own experiences growing up in the islands and garnished Flowers with a “Director to Watch” nomination at this year’s American Black Film Festival.

Synopsis:

On the idyllic shores of the Cayman Islands, Shy (Bloom) and Andrea (Saldana) share a secret her parents can never know – they are in love.   But a night of passion leads to their discovery and a devastating act of vengeance by Andrea’s brother (Mackie).  Meanwhile, a shady American businessman (Paxton) has fled with his daughter to the Islands to avoid federal prosecution, only to be drawn into a dangerous web of deceit.  As lives intersect and truths are revealed, a chain reaction of violence is set in motion that will determine whether love can survive the fall of paradise.

Haven will include a behind-the-scenes “Making Of” featurette and will be presented in both Widescreen (1.85:1) and Full Screen (1.33:1) formats together on one flipper disc. It will feature Dolby Surround 5.1 audio, and English & Spanish subtitles.

Haven is now available for pre-order at Amazon. As of yet, there is not a release date for the UK. Visit the DVD database for more information.
