Enter the darkness when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases Silent Hill, the action-packed horror film based on the best selling video game about a little girl drawn to an abandoned town, on Blu-ray Disc for the suggested retail price of $38.95, and PSP and DVD for the suggested retail price of $28.95 on August 22nd.
Staring Radha Mitchell (Finding Neverland, Man on Fire) and Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Flightplan) and directed by Chrisophe Gans, Silent Hill delivered more than $20 million as the #1 film its opening weekend and will debut on DVD in widescreen and full-screen versions with bonus features including a 6-part production diary. Based on the best-selling horror action game, Silent Hill stars Radha Mitchell (Man on Fire) as Rose, a desperate mother who takes her adopted daughter, Sharon, to the town of Silent Hill in an attempt to cure her of her ailment. After a violent car crash, Sharon disappears and Rose begins her desperate search to get her back.
She descends into a fog of smoldering ash and into the center of the twisted reality of a town's terrible secret. Pursued by grotesquely deformed creatures and a townspeople stuck in permanent purgatory, Rose begins to uncover the truth behind the apocalyptic disaster that burned the town 30 years back.
