The critically acclaimed collaboration between Academy Award nominated director Wim Wenders (The Buena Vista Social Club; Paris, Texas) and Pulitzer Prize winning screenwriter and Academy Award nominee Sam Shepard (The Right Stuff, Black Hawk Down), Don’t Come Knocking arrives on DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on August 8th with the suggested retail price of $24.96.
The film’s all-star cast includes two-time Academy Award winner Jessica Lange (Blue Sky, Tootsie), Academy Award nominee Tim Roth (Rob Roy, Planet of the Apes), Gabriel Mann (The Bourne Supremacy), Sarah Polley (Dawn of the Dead, The Sweet Hereafter), Fairuza Balk (Almost Famous, The Craft,), and Academy Award winner Eva Marie Saint (On the Waterfront, Superman Returns).
Don’t Come Knocking stars Sam Shepard as down-on-his-luck Western star Howard Spence who walks away from Hollywood in an effort to turn his life around. His first stop is Elko NV, where his mother (Eva Marie Saint) informs him that he may have a grown son from a long-forgotten relationship. Howard finds his son (Gabriel Mann) as well as his lost love (Jessica Lange). However, his efforts to forge a relationship with them are hampered by a private detective (Tim Roth) who has been sent to track him down. The DVD will come with several special features including:
