Vin Diesel and director David Twohy escape convict Riddick returns to DVD May 30th in the Riddick Trilogy – which collects all three films (Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick and The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury) for the suggested retail price of $19.98.
Pitch Black kicked of the Riddick franchise by following a group of maroon passengers after they crash-land on a remote planet. The passengers soon learn that escaped convict Riddick (Vin Diesel) isn't the only thing they have to fear. Deadly creatures lurk in the shadows, waiting to attack in the dark, and the planet is rapidly plunging into the utter blackness of a total eclipse. With the body count rising, the doomed survivors are forced to turn to Riddick with his eerie eyes to guide them through the darkness to safety. With time running out, there's only one rule: Stay in the light.
Released direct to DVD before Riddick’s return to the big screen, The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury is from renowned animator Peter Chung (The Animatrix, “Matriculated”; MTV's Æon Flux) and presents an all-new vision of the Riddick universe. When Riddick is captured by bounty hunters, he must battle soldiers of fortune and vicious creatures in the lethal slaughter cells of a massive starship. Riddick's night vision and ruthless combat skills are all that stand between him and a fate literally worse than death in this, sci-fi thrill-ride that bridges the incredible stories of Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.
The Chronicles of Riddick sees Diesel return as the Riddick character in an electrifying special-effects-fueled action spectacular. After years of outrunning ruthless bounty hunters, escaped convict Riddick suddenly finds himself caught between opposing forces in a fight for the future of the human race. Now, waging incredible battles on fantastic and deadly worlds, this lone, reluctant hero will emerge as humanity’s champion - and the last hope for a universe on the edge of annihilation. The Riddick Triology will come with loads of special features that are sperated on the individual films. The features include:
