Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the action-thriller Freedomland, staring Academy Award nominees Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Julianne Moore (The Forgotten) and two-time Golden Globe winner Edie Falco (“The Sopranos”), on DVD May 30th for the suggested retail price of $28.95.
The film is a riveting journey to uncover the truth about a missing child, and was directed by Joe Roth (America’s Sweethearts) and produced by Academy Award nominee Scott Rudin (The Hours, Truman Show, Closer). It is based on Richard Price’s best selling novel of the same name.
The suspense of Freedomland begins late one night in a working class New Jersey suburb as Brenda Martin (Moore) staggers mute and dazed into the emergency room of Dempsy Medical Center. After treatment, Martin recounts her horrific experience to Dempsy police detective Lorenzo Council (Jackson).
Martin claims she was carjacked and that her son, Cody, was asleep in the back seat of the stolen car. A search for Cody is initiated immediately by Detective Council and the frenzy to find the child escalates into an explosive nightmare of suspicions, accusations and disturbing revelations, culminating in a shocking action-packed ending.

The DVD contains both 2.40:1 widescreen and 1.33:1 full screen presentations and will be presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound. Right now, there appear to be no special features included on the DVD.
Freedomland is available for pre-order at Amazon. As of yet, there is not a release date for the UK. Visit the DVD’s database for more information.
