Dolph Lundgren is set to explode onto DVD in a no-holds-barred revenge flick called The Russian Specialist – an all-new feature film from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment that arrives on Feb. 14th with the suggested retail price of $24.96.
The film, which was written and directed by Lundgren, follows Nick Cherenko (Lundgren) – an ex-Soviet Spetsnaz living in Russia with his wife and son and working as a mechanic. During a drug deal gone wrong, Lundgren’s wife and child are killed in the crossfire by the Russian mob. Cherenko later hunts down the killers, wiping them out and leaving Sasha (played by Ivan Petrushinov) assumed dead – with a nasty bullet hole in the face.
With his family gone, Lundgren searches for a better life in America and is working as a mechanic when he is approached to do a job – retrieve the kidnapped daughter of a wealthy businesswoman. Lundgren refuses until he discovers the girl’s kidnapper is Sasha. This takes Cherenko on a hunt for relentless revenge.
The DVD will be available in the widescreen format, but will have no special features.
The Russian Specialist is available for pre-order at Amazon . As of yet, there is not a release date for the UK. Visit the DVD’s database for more information.
