The year’s most outrageous wedding comedy Bridesmaids arrives on DVD and Blu-ray Combo packs on September 20th from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. It will be available for Digital Download September 20th.

Surpassing Sex and the City as the number one R-rated female comedy of all time, Bridesmaids stars “Saturday Night Live” standouts Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, and was produced by comedy mastermind Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year Old Virgin).

Thirty-something Annie (Kristen Wiig) has hit a rough patch but finds her life turned completely upside down when she takes on the Maid of Honor role in her best friend Lillian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding. In way over her head but determined to succeed, Annie leads a hilarious hodgepodge of bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to the big event.

Universal Home Entertainment wanted to make sure fans are getting in the mood for a little funny romance and the big wedding day by sending us a list of some of the genre’s greatest flicks. Do you agree with their list or did they miss a few? 

MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING

One of the wildest bridesmaids tales starred in My Best Friend’s Wedding. Years back, Cam and Julianne made a pact, if by the time they were 27 neither were married, they would marry each other. While Julianne, isn’t thrilled about the idea, she realized how much she cares for Cam when she finds out he’s promised to Kimmy.

No one can forget when Julianne (Julia Roberts) goes a little bridesmaid crazy with her cunning schemes to break apart her best friend Cam (Dermot Mulroney) and his bride-to-be Kimmy (Cameron Diaz). Julianne may not get to be the bride in this one but at least she had her fabulous friend George (Rubert Everett) to keep her honest!

27 DRESSES
 

Katherine Heigl character Jane holds the record for being a bridesmaid more times than anyone. With 27 bridesmaid dresses under her wing, she wonders when it’s going to be her turn to be the bride.  Now with her sister marrying Jane’s man of her dreams, Jane must decide whether she will take the high road or decide she’s had enough.

In the midst of bridesmaid calamity, she finds herself falling in love with a news reporter (James Marsden) doing a story on her experience as a bridesmaid. More and more it’s looking like Jane finally gets her man, and gets to wear the dress of her lifetime!
                   
MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING
 

When Toula (Nia Vardalos) finds the man of her dreams in Ina (John Corbett), they’ll have to cross many barriers including their different cultures – not to mention Toula’s overprotective family. While Toula is trying to get through planning her wedding, and her first relationship, the single women in her family are overbearingly excited with Toula’s cousin Nikki ordering the tackiest bridesmaids dresses ever to be seen on the Silver Screen. Will Toula and Ian’s relationship crack under the pressure of the family or will their love overcome all obstacles?!?!

MADE OF HONOR
 

Tom and Hannah have been friends since college. While Tom has always been a ladies man and is always with different women, Hannah has remained his best friend throughout. Now that Hannah has met the man of her dreams – a Scottish hunk, Dude from Grey’s Anatomy, she asks Tom to be her Maid of Honor. 

As Tom learns the ropes of being a good “bridesmaid,” he quickly realizes he has deeper feelings for Hannah then he ever imagined. Tom eventually gets his girl, but definitely is one of the top worst bridesmaids to ever exist on the silver screen!

SIXTEEN CANDLES
 

Even though Samantha is far too young to be a bride, you can’t blame her for being a little bitter about her family forgetting her sixteenth birthday on the week of her sister’s wedding. This teen has got a bad case of the bridesmaid blues! The highlight of her teenage life comes about when her hunky crush, Jake waits for her outside the church after Sam’s sister’s wedding ceremony.

Samantha skips the reception and Jake helps her celebrate her forgotten birthday with a cake and a smooch sweet enough for a bride. This teen had to go through huddles of geeks, freaks and wacky grandparents before she could have her day at the church. At least outside of the church anyway!
           
THE WEDDING DATE
 

Kat’s (Debra Messing) biggest fear is about to come true – her baby sister is getting married before her, and to top it off, the groom happens to be Kat’s ex. Not only is Kat’s sister marrying the man that dumped Kat a couple years ago, but she must also take on the role of bridesmaid.

Kat has got everything going for her as a single and successful New Yorker but can’t bare going to the wedding solo, so she takes desperate measures and hires an escort named Nick (Dermot Mulroney) to be her date. Nick turns out to be a catch and the two end up really hitting it off. Looks like this bridesmaid steals back the bride’s day in the spotlight.
