Full Metal Jacket was a great movie, but I didn't realize how intelligent this actor is in real life. Also he seems like a real patriot, his dedication to creating the charity is outstanding.

I was a Marine from 1977 to 1981 and did not go through what the movie showed for boot camp as far as sadistic training, but I heard much of it around me. I have to admit once I started watching it, I ruined the movie for everyone else around me in the theater because I knew what was coming, couldn't stop laughing to see it on screen, and even joined in with the cadences.

I first saw Full metal jacket in 88 with a Marine buddy I served with and our wives. About ten minutes into the movie Jack (my buddy) and I just looked at each other and said 'NO FREAKIN WAY!' 'THATS HOW BOOT CAMP WAS' Our wives did not believe us saying they didnt yell at you like that, They didnt hit you. I told the girls that the only flaw I saw was instead of one man yelling at us like that we had four. I was discharged in 1988 and still use this movie as a motivational tool for P.T. Thank you to all who brought us the great movie.
