250 years in the future, the existence of the world is threatened by the arrival of the ultimate evil. This happens every 5000 years. Only the fifth element (Milla Jovovich) can prevent the extinction of all life. She is helped by ex-soldier Corben Dallas (Bruce Willis), who has to work as a cab driver after he left the army. A funny, action packed and dramatic story begins ....
This third DVD release, the two-disc Ultimate Edition, is the best one yet. It is the first Fifth Element DVD to contain any supplemental features.
It is a Superbit Deluxe DVD, the first disc containing the film in a high bit-rate picture and DTS sound also containing a subtitled trivia track. With its greater detail and more natural colors, it is a supreme viewing experience.
The second disc contains two hours of featurettes, produced in 2004 and new to DVD. The features cover 4 Milla Jovovich's screen tests, visual effects and the creation of the aliens.
It also contains backgrounds about the roots of the film, which lie in the comic art of some french authors, including the famous Moebius, who is responsible for some of the faboulous set and the artwork shown in the movie.
