DVD - Saving Shiloh
The new film brings the Shiloh story full circle to a satisfying conclusion, is a suspenseful mystery, but at its core, is a heartwarming story of family, kindness and the unbreakable bond between a boy and his dog. Young Marty Preston’s (Jason Dolley) neighbor, Judd Travers (Scott Wilson) – known to trilogy fans as the previous abusive owner of Shiloh, Marty’s beloved beagle – is an outsider who’s generally shunned by the community.
Judd had suffered a near-fatal truck accident (in Shiloh Season) and Marty and his family (parents Gerald McRaney and Ann Dowd) believing Judd could change his evil ways, had attempted to help redeem him. In Saving Shiloh, Marty continues this effort by showing Judd how to better care for his hounds, and in the process, save the hounds the way he saved Shiloh.
However, when Judd becomes the prime suspect in a local murder, Marty fears both he and Shiloh could be in danger. A dramatic turn of events in the suspenseful conclusion allows Judd to prove he is capable of change and results in newfound respect and acceptance by the townspeople.

It's strange to me that the list of characters leaves out Jared Sanz-Agero who played Bad Guy #1, the young man in the plaid shirt who was the talking escaped convict. It was his role and that of his buddy in crime who brought any kind of excitement into this slow-moving, slow-talking, repetitious film about the boy, his dog, his dour dad, the old chaw-spitting, squirrel-killing, dog- kicking backwoodsman, and the family that was just too, too good. So, let's hear it for Bad Guy #1, Jared Sanz-Agero, a professional actor from St. Louis, Missouri, one of the local talent who gave the film some ACTION!
