Roles become reversed and the lines between the popular and those who aren’t become
blurred as Brooke (Leslie Bibb, TV’s “ER;”), Sam (Carly Pope), Nicole (Tammy Lynn
Michaels, TV’s “The L Word”), Mary Cherry (Leslie Grossman, “What I Like About
You”) and the hilariously over-the-top chemistry teacher, Bobbi Glass (Diane Delano)
return for the second season of Popular. When a star football player arrives at Kennedy
High, chaos ensues within the school’s social pecking order. Backstabbing, lies, betrayal
and blackmail become the order of the day in the search for the Holy Grail of high
school: popularity.
The “populars” include Brooke McQueen, a Barbie doll prototype, head cheerleader and
the Devil in person, and Mary Cherry, the multi-millionaire sugar daddy’s daughter.
On the unpopular side: Sam McPherson, who is always seeking justice; Harrison, the notso-
hot boy; Carmen Ferrara, the fat girl with the warm heart and Lily, the confused girl
with the boyish look.
