Max Kelp (Josh Walitt) is a geek who helps his father run a funeral home, but instead of preparing the dead for burial Max is figuring out how to bring them back to life by using his ‘reverse impulse bypass manipulation.’ In technical terms this involves strapping a lawnmower engine to the side of a corpse’s head and connecting it to a home PC. After a dose of carbon monoxide Max utters the eternal words of Baron Frankenstein, ‘the dead live!’

Talkback

The premise of the movie is a traditional one involving the basics of Frankenstein meets the mad scientist. The film itself is done well for the basic reason that the actors are all unknown. The movie was cast in Grand Junction, CO and few members of the cast had any training in acting before the film was shot. I should know, I played Mr. Beck in the film. Mike Murphy who wrote, directed and produced the film, gave it a gritty, humorous and intriguing element not seen in productions like this. If you like movies with a twist then this one is for you.
