Am I imagining things or are the two who fall in love in the movie actually 1st cousins?

This movie is deffinitely worth skipping. Although the plot and actors aren't bad, the digital monster is a laugh. We laughed throughout most of this one. I loved when they are waiting on a total solar eclipse and the reason they know it is near is because the full moon is rising? C'mon.
