Dude TV is large and in charge with MTV2 2014 Programming, a testosterone filled slate with the new series “Jobs That Don’t Suck” and the return of perennial favorite, “Guy Code.” MTV2’s Highest-Rated Series Ever, “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out,” Set to Return with an All-New Season in Summer 2014 Season Premiere of “Charlamagne and Friends” on January 15 to Guest Star Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and Tika Sumpter MTV2 spent the last few years investing in original, comedic programming, working to change the perception that MTV2 is really M T V T O O, a network that simply runs old MTV content. MTV 2 is focused on creating funny original guy minded shows, meaning they want guys to watch but they aslo hope their girlfriends watch, too. This focus on original programming is working. While across TV, males 12 34 are down, MTV2 was up 13 percent in 2013. In fact, in 2013 MTV 2 celebrated their most watched and highest rated year ever. MTV 2 also recorded their highest rated series of all time “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out” and our highest rated original series ever “Ain’t That America with Lil Duval.” Both series won their time slots on cable. MTV 2 expects even bigger things for MTV2 in 2014. Starting Wednesday, January 15th, they return with new seasons of “Ain’t That America” and “Charlamagne and Friends.” “Ain’t That America” features stand up Lil Duval exploring American’s greatest cultural traditions through hilarious viral videos and skits. He’s joined each week by his right hand girl Carly Aquilino, one of their fan favorites from MTV’s “Girl Code” and hilarious in her own right. “Charlamagne and Friends” is a weekly series hosted by the brutally honest Charlamagne Tha God, “Guy Code” regular and host of the top hip hop radio show in the country. And MTV 2 was happy to announce his first guests at the television critics’ association press tour on “Charlamagne and Friends” as Kevin Hart, Ice Cube, and Tika Sumpter will all sit down and chat with Charlamagne on the season premiere. For “Ain’t That America” Season 2 will be bigger and better than ever. In addition to Duval and Carly, they will have guest stars J.R. Smith from the New York Knicks, comedian Judah Friedlander, rapper Waka Flocka Flame, and model Rosa Acosta. MTV 2 also used the TCAs winter press tour to exclusively announce to the room the green light of a new series “Jobs That Don’t Suck” hosted by Andrew Shulz. This half hour comedy series guides viewers through the innovative ways that young Americans are finding success by doing what they love. In addition to Andrew, they will have Nessa Diab from “Girl Code” and the brilliant Eddie Wong, a “New York Times” bestseller and host of “Vices Fresh Off the Boat” to lend their expertise each week. “Jobs That Don’t Suck” premieres in April 2014 right after the Season 4 premiere of perhaps their most devoutly followed show “Guy Code.” April’s going to be a huge month for us as MTV 2 will also be premiering their new series with Major League Baseball. Finally, “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out” is back with a summer 2014 premiere. If anyone can top last year’s monster success, it’s Nick.
