Demi Moore has released a statement to the AP revealing her plans to divorce her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher.
The 49-year-old actress said “it was with great sadness and a heavy heart” that she made her decision.
The ‘Ghost’ star went on to say “as a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”
Kutcher posted a tweet saying “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi.”
‘The Butterfly Effect’ actor carried on “Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail.”
The couple hit the headlines when ‘Sara Leal’ came forward claiming she and 33-year-old Ashton had a fling.
Moore added “This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”
Kutcher is currently starring in TV series ‘Two and a Half Men’ and Moore recently completed work on the forthcoming movie ‘LOL’.
