American actor Chris Pine has been fined by a court in New Zealand for drink driving.
The 33-year-old Captain Kirk star pleaded guilty after he was stopped and tested by police after a party. Pine was celebrating the wrapping up of filming on Z for Zachariah when police stopped him at 3am.
Pine’s breath test came it at 113 micrograms, over the legal limit of 80 micrograms.
The judge in the case said she understood the actor did regret the incident and had made donations to charity but that the law still applied.
He was banned from driving for six months and fined around $350.
Z for Zachariah is based on Robert C. O’Brien’s post-apocalyptic novel. Pine stars alongside Margot Robbie and Chiwetel Ejiofor with Craig Zobel directing.
