Brit Awards nominee Lily Allen to perform on “Saturday Night Live”

Four-time Brit Awards nominee Lily Allen will launch her debut album ‘Alright, Still’ with an appearance on “Saturday Night Live” on February 3rd and an intimate club tour that kicks off on Monday, February 5th in Los Angeles. Allen, who was also recently nominated for a Shockwaves NME Award, will perform on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” on February 13th.

Allen was selected by MTV to launch its first-ever “Discover and Download” tour. In addition, she’s MTV’s “Discover and Download” artist for January, receiving MTV’s full multi-screen treatment with high profile placement on all of the network’s platforms including MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Mobile and MTV.com.

The buzz about Allen has been building for months. Dubbed the “queen of myspace” because of the phenomenal response to demos she posted on the site and her inveterate blogging, she was also championed early on by SIRIUS satellite radio (with “Left of Center” and “Alt Nation” introducing Lily to U.S. listeners and first single “Smile” now added by “Hits 1″ and “The Pulse”) and KCRW as well as by outlets such as The New York Times, the New Yorker and pitchfork.com.

The groundswell has continued with an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Smile” quickly climbing the charts at radio, the accompanying video added at VH1 and FUSE and coverage everywhere from Rolling Stone, Vibe, Spin and URB (the cover story for the January/February issue) to Entertainment Weekly, Blender, Vogue and The Wall Street Journal, to name but a few. Allen gave exclusive performances for Yahoo! Music (as part of its prestigious “Who’s Next” promotion) and Sessions@AOL and got the nod from MSN’s “Ones To Watch” program. She is currently one of the featured artists in the latest installment of Clear Channel Radio’s NEW! series.

The hugely successful emerging artist program – which helped launch The Fray, Young Jeezy, Corinne Bailey Rae, James Blunt, Rihanna and many more – has been one of Clear Channel Radio’s most visited online destinations, with over 5MM plays since January 2006. NEW! now offers personal on-demand videos created by the artists exclusively for the program. She will be Nokia’s “Spotlight Artist” for February and lead single “Smile” has been tapped for Electronic Arts’ “The Sims 2 Seasons” video game scheduled for release in February. A special Lily Allen Rhapsody Original Sessions EP featuring three live tracks will be released on February 6th.

Allen leads the way with four nominations for the 2007 Brit Awards, which will be held February 14th in her native England. She was nominated in the “Best British Female Solo Act,” “Best British Breakthrough Act,” “Best British Single” and “Best British Album” categories. She’s also nominated for a Shockwaves NME Award in the Best Solo Artist category. The Shockwaves NME Awards will take place on March 1st. Allen’s upcoming
