From Monsters and Critics.com Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Book Reviews In a cruel twist of fate, former vampire hunter Michael Quinn became the very thing he was carefully raised to hate. When Michael receives an old letter spelling out the location of The Eye, a long lost ancient artifact capable of bestowing one wish upon whoever possesses it, he sees his opportunity to become human again. Ever since a former lover tricked Janie Parker into signing her life away, she has been in the employ of The Company headed by one hell of a boss. Using the safety and location of her missing sister as motivation, the Boss charges Janie with retrieving The Eye for him. Naturally, Michael is loath to part with his prize, even if he can find it and Janie’s abrasive attitude does little to ingratiate herself with him. Still, Janie intrigues him, she used to be a sweet natured kid, not this hard-bitten merc who will stop at nothing to obtain an artifact she knows nothing about. Despite their obvious differences, sparks fly between the two and Michael finds it increasingly difficult to keep his fangs to himself. The fast pace, quick wit and an assortment of creatures make for a light, predictable paranormal romance romp.
