This vampire has been alone for far too long . . . As one of the most ancient in the Argeneau clan, Cale Valens has given up on finding a life mate. His friends and family, however, have not. In fact, they believe they\'ve finally found his perfect match. Getting them together, however, requires one little white lie . . . Alexandra Willan is in ...more
Cale Valens is one of the Argeneau clan’s eldest, so old that he can no longer tolerate being around humans because the mere smell of food is nauseating. So when Mortimer’s mate Sam helps her sister, Alex Willan by insisting Cale is a renowned chef, he is understandably upset to say nothing of being seriously out of his depth. However, with the vampire matchmaker and Sam insisting that Alex is his life mate, Cale is willing see if she is the one with amusing results.
Since deciding to expand and open a second restaurant, Alex has been faced with one problem after another. If it wasn’t a fire, it was the wrong expensive tile, the grotesque orange carpet, the sickening green paint or the defection of her head cook. This was no time to start thinking about building a relationship with Cale, no matter how sexy he might be. Still, there is no denying their growing attraction but will they be able to solve the mystery behind Alex’s string of bad luck before it turns deadly.
Sands’ latest in the Argeneau series continues to dish out quick wit and sparking romance with a healthy dose of mystery thrown in though in this case, it isn’t much of a mystery who is behind Alex’s bad luck. A sparkling bit of light vampire romance liberally dosed with Sand’s signature humor and snappy dialog.
