Book Review: Eternal Hunger
By Sandy Amazeen Sep 25, 2010, 19:18 GMT
Years ago, Alexander Roman and his two brothers escaped the confines of the harsh, overbearing control of the Eternal Order who govern the actions of pureblood vampires worldwide. With the disturbing activities of Ethan Dare, a powerful Impure vampire, the Order forces Alexander to undergo the painful physical transformation known as morpho a hundred years before he should have. Not only has the Order found the Roman brothers, they have given Alexander an ultimatum, kill Ethan or watch his brothers be forced through morpho early as well.
Marked with distinctive tattoos the indicate he has a true mate, Alexander still can’t help forming an attachment to Dr. Sara Donohue, the courageous psychiatrist who gave him shelter when morpho was triggered. To protect Sara from the stalker who threatens her life, Alexander took her into his home and more, into his confidence. As much as desire sparks between the two, there can be no future for a human and pureblood but neither can deny the bond that pulls them ever closer together.
In a field brimming with rehashes of the same theme, Wright has managed to create a sound, believable vampire culture with plenty of tension and interesting plot points. The pacing is smooth with well-developed characters and the satisfying conclusion leaves ample room for more from this strong new series.
