Legend has it that Armand Argeneau is a killer in the bedroom . . . But with all three of his late wives meeting unfortunate and untimely ends, is this sexy immortal a lover or a murderer? That\'s what Eshe d\'Aureus intends to find out. As an enforcer, it\'s her job to bring rogue vampires to justice, even if the rogue in question makes her ...more
Sands’ latest installment of the Argeneau/Rogue immortal hunter series features Lucian’s brother Armand, a hunky farmer with three wives who died under suspicious circumstances. Lucian’s enforcer Eshe has been sent to Armand’s quiet farm, supposedly to stay safe from the reach of a rogue vampire though her real mission is to uncover the truth behind the seemingly unrelated deaths of Armand’s wives and determine whether he is the victim of a bizarre string of bad luck or a serial killer. Neither counted on discovering they were life mates. As Eshe digs deeper into the past, she uncovers evidence that Armand may be innocent of the allegations against him. While their bond continues to develop, it becomes clear Eshe’s life is in danger. The question is will she become the victim of another bizarre “accident” before Armand and her can discover who the real killer is.
Quick, sassy and sexy, this quick read reveals the lighter side of vampirism while maintaining a nice air of mystery. The problems inherent in trying to pass for human when you need to keep a supply of blood handy as well as the lust-crazed frenzy of newly bonded life mates keep the story lively. Armand’s stoic attempts to protect what remains of his family add a poignant note to this nice addition to a fun series that newcomers can dive into and enjoy.
