Book four of the Quantum Gravity series picks up cyborg Lila Black’s topsy-turvy world shortly after her return home following Going Under . Although she has only been gone a few months inexplicitly, fifty years have passed her by on Otopian. An agent with the Otopian Secret Service, Lila’s new assignment is to find her missing demon husband Teazie, then kill him for a mass murder. Lila is certain that demon or not, Teazie didn’t commit the crime and sets out to prove his innocence but is sidetracked by her need to find Zal, a dead elven rock star and her lover.
With the assistance of her sentient dress that pops out humorous costume changes from time to time, cyborg armor and sword, Lila ventures into new territory where she uncovers a vial plot. An ancient evil with delusions of Godhood has been creating suspicion and mistrust between species to facilitate plans at setting itself up as an interdimensional God to the determent of all.
Fast paced, humorous and a bit convoluted, Robson continues building action packed interdimensional worlds. Some of the subplots fail to add much to the overall story and given the title, readers might expect dragons to play a larger role yet these are minor drawbacks to another exciting addition to the series.
