Denise Little has taken on the controversial evolution versus creationism argument with this latest anthology of eleven new sci-fi short stories that covers a broad range of possibilities. It’s a timely subject as polls show that despite the preponderance of evidence backing evolutionists, a staggering number of Americans continue to blindly ignore the facts choosing instead, to selectively pick out those tidbits that back their theology. No matter what your personal beliefs may be, most of these stories will delight while leaving you with a chuckle or something to ponder.
Such is the case with God, No Matter How You Spell It by Brendan DuBois that sees an end to humanity’s supremacy on Earth but not before some talented men pass the baton of intelligence. A couple stories prominently feature beetles as seen in Michael Hiebert’s The Signature of God , which points the way toward a chilling new direction in warfare while exploring the depth of heart.
As with most short story collections, there are some forgettable offerings mixed in with the more thoughtful, well-developed tales and it’s these gems that sing. Be aware there are a number of misspellings that should have been caught during the editing process, a growing trend in the book publishing business these days.
