Skynet and the ragtag army of human Resistance fighters are engaged in an escalating game of hide and seek. While the Resistance takes down towers that effect Skynet’s ability to triangulate battle strategy, it comes with a steep price in lost lives. After Connor’s group is flushed out of their LA Basin hiding place by the relentless HK’s and T-600’s, the main Command decide not to provide them with badly needed supplies. Connor vows to make Command sit up and take notice of his “disposable” unit thus setting off a series of events that will most certainly gain everyone’s attention.
No attention is given to describing the Hunter-Killer’s, the T-100’s or T-600’s, apparently assuming readers already know how fearsome they are from the movies. This is unfortunate as the terror and horror these machines should evoke never quite comes through. Die hard Terminator fans will likely be lining up for the movie prequel which is fine if you like action, action and more action but avid sci-fi readers looking for finely developed characters, hard science and more involved plots will be disappointed.
