As a Hound, Allison Beckstrom knows better then most that magic does not come without a price tag, typically lost memories along with headaches or bruising. Still recovering from her near fatal collision with magic, Allie is unpleasantly surprised when the ghost of her father not only appeared in her shower, but worse, touched her. The gangster Allie helped put behind bars now has some of her blood, deadly ghosts are haunting her favorite coffee shop and Zayvion, the man she supposedly once loved has just reappeared. With no memory of Zayvion, Allie is forced to rely on his abilities as the police investigation she is hired for turns deadlier then she could have imagined as she faces blood magic, pure evil and her own father’s lust for power.
Tight, fast and vividly drawn, Monk’s second Allison Beckstrom novel features fresh interpretations of the paranormal, strong characters dealing with their share of faults and flaws ghoulish plot twists. Fans of Patricia Briggs or Jim Butcher will want to check out this inventive new voice.
