The idyllic peace of remote Safe Haven, Wisconsin is brutally torn apart with the crash landing of a military helicopter just outside of town. This was no ordinary military mission, instead of regular solders the survivors were part of a Red-ops team; specially trained, enhanced and well motivated sadistic killers who love their work. Bad news for Safe Haven residents as the local population is brutally mowed down in pursuit of Warren. The only ones standing between what remains of the townspeople and a relentless killing unit is Sheriff Streng, firefighter Josh Van Camp, Fran Stauffer and her surprisingly strong twelve-year-old son Duncan.
Not for the squeamish, this sick gore fest is as vividly imagined and starkly detailed as anything you are likely to come across and depending upon your taste in horror, that could be a good thing. The fast pace never lets up and Kilborn includes enough twists and character development to maintain plenty of suspense to the end.
