Betsy, Queen of the vampires is finally going to get that wedding she always wanted in the sixth book of the lighthearted Undead series. What she didn’t bargain on was how difficult getting married would prove to be. Just two weeks out from the “big event” and suddenly everyone close to her has either mysteriously disappeared, died or is fighting for their lives leaving Betsy on her own for the first time since becoming the Vampire Queen. The Vampire King, Betsy’s consort and groom, Eric Sinclair has vanished into thin air and is presumed dead. Her dad and stepmother have been killed in bizarre car accident leaving her with care of an infant half brother. Long time friend Jessica suffers a relapse and is in the hospital fighting for her life against a particularly nasty strain of cancer. Housemate Marc has disappeared along with Antonia, a werewolf who cannot change shape but can see the future and her new lover, George the Fiend, even Cathy the resident ghost has vanished. Betsy knows that somehow these events all tie into something important but can hardly find time to figure it out with her new responsibilities of motherhood and a ticked off werewolf pack knocking at the door demanding the return of their missing wolf. She knew weddings were stressful but this is ridiculous! Still, if she wants to save those nearest and dearest to her, Betsy must go back to the beginning in order to track down the real fiend orchestrating current events, a challenge as she has always left the thinking to others. Still, where there’s a will, there’s a way and Betsy’s determined to get through this wedding one way or another.
Betsy finally grows up and begins to accept her role as Queen of the Vampires while dealing with some baggage left over from her earliest days as a new vamp. Several lose threads left hanging in previous books are neatly resolved by the end of this funny take on the decidedly less dark side of paranormal lore. Hints are provided as to where this series may go in future, what is certain, we haven’t seen the last of Betsy and her strange siblings.

this is the bestest and funniest series i have ever read and if i could i would erase my memory only to read them all over again from scratch! Betsy is a lovable Vamp and if i died i would so want to wake up like her. if i could swap places with betsy and get a hunky fiance like erick i so would!
