From the author of the dark “Vampire Earth” comes this second in “The Age of Fire” series which follows the life of young Wistala, a green dragon who witnessed the slaying of her parents and siblings at the hands of treacherous dwarves and men. With her last breaths, Wistala’s mother sent her and brother Auron, flying upwards towards the Upper World giving them a slim chance at survival. The siblings work together in an ongoing struggle to feed themselves, hide and survive in a world bent on nothing less then eradicating dragonkind from the face of the earth. In a last, selfless act, Auron decoys hunters away from Wistala, giving her a chance at life even as the grief of losing all nearly overwhelms her. Wistala is nothing if not strong willed, she takes her pain and begins crafting herself into an instrument bent upon avenging her parents and hatchmates.
Forging friendships with a collection of unlikely creatures, Wistala grows into her strength and plans the means of settling old scores in this lovely coming of age tale suitable for fantasy aficionados of all ages.
