One mans experiment spreads a gory trail of carnage throughout the normally quiet, upscale community of Black Stone Bay, Rhode Island and it will be a long time before anyone there feels like celebrating Halloween. Few people took notice when Jason Soulis first moved into their community; he was a quiet, well heeled neighbor who seemed to keep to himself. No one, not even Maggie Preston’s pimp Tom Pardue knew of the list of names Soulis had given her to seduce. Maggie took on the assignment with gusto, not only was she being well paid but there was a challenge involved with tempting men of faith to stray.
A child disappears leaving behind a devastated family, memories of a similar disappearance years earlier are stirred up. When Teddy is located a few days later shaken, pale and unable to account for his whereabouts the entire community breaths a collective sign of relief. Soon after, Teddy’s condition worsens only that’s not the worst of it. His body has gone missing from the morgue leaving the hospital desperately trying to find it while defending itself against the lawyer/parents now firmly on the warpath. So begins the first of a string of missing person reports coming into the police department.
One would think a small town police force wouldn’t have to worry about a crooked cop in their midst but then there’s always someone like Brian Freemont looking for a power rush. Brian likes to get his kicks out of busting sweet young college girls, making them squirm and ideally, enjoying sexual favors in exchange for letting them off. It’s a rush that’s going to get him in more trouble then he ever thought possible and that’s just for starters. Not only are there numerous missing person reports, there are dead people disappearing, many in town are having frightening nightmares and some, like Maggie are finding their lives are being changed for all time.
