A police procedural located in the unusual setting of Mongolia. It begins with the trial of the previously untouchable gang leader Muunokhoi who has ruled the underworld of Ulan Baatar for over twenty years.

When the trial collapses, Nergui and Doripalam of the Serious Crime Team recognise that problems exist within their own organisation.  Who can they trust? Determined to ensure that  Muunokhoi is brought to account for his crimes; they set out on a crusade which threatens their own lives.

An interesting insight into a country and culture of which we know little. Quite complex, needing lots of concentration to read. Nergui and Doripalam are well drawn characters who dominate the story.
