It was amusing to read of the arguments between film makers over the creation of an octopus - Ray was told that his proposals were nothing like a real octopus only to find that the film maker was basing his knowledge on a creature in a Popeye film! Absolutely enthralling.
It shows just how a legendary filmmaker developed from the creation of simple marionettes to stunning special effects in Clash of the Titans. This is a book to be read in short bursts, as the amount of information it contains is incredible.
