Troll-Son does not want to go and spend time at the home of the Betterer, the most evil troll in the forest. Instead, Troll-son wants to go and see his favorite human, a boy named Samuel Blink.
Faced with the two choices, Troll-son runs away and hides in Samuel's home. The timing could not be worse. Samuel and his family are already trying to discourage questions about his Uncle Henrik's return and strange dog-like habits, as well as dealing with attempts by Mr Myklebust to develop a theme park in the forest.
Imagine hiding a one-eyed troll under the bed, and living with a permanent smell of cabbage around you. Attempts to return Troll-son to his proper home result in capture by The Betterer and doused in Itching water before being hung up to dry. Everything hangs on Samuel's ten year old sister saving the day.
It is entertaining, amusing yet with a serious message about likes and dislikes, prejudices and conflicts underlining it. This is a really entertaining book for children. It makes you smile and is perfect for reading aloud. More please!
