Book Review: The Silver Bear: A Novel by Derek Haas

Columbus is a hit man who never misses. He is an assassin at the top of his profession. Taking on a contract to kill a congressman running for President, Columbus discovers that this task will not be as simple as he first thought.

Somehow the congressman is linked to Columbus's own past. But in what way? Just what is the link? Who is hunting who? Columbus quickly realizes that to fulfil this mission, he has to ask a lot of awkward questions both about himself and his prey. A slick, solid thriller in which every word counts. The pace is fast and furious; a real page turner where you just have to find out what happens next. It is not a heavy read, just an enthralling one. Well worth reading.
