Book Review: Murder on the Dance Floor by Susan Kelly
By Angela Youngman Jul 2, 2007, 23:55 GMT

The first death at the Kismet Club in Newbury is seen as yet another Ecstasy mishap - tragic but all too common. Then other deaths occur - and it becomes clear that a much more dangerous drug is involved. Known as Entry, anyone with a knowledge of chemistry can easily manufacture it. The problem is just one tablet can kill. Then DC Nicolaide's fiancee, Nadia, holds an unusual hen party at the club at the same time as the police begin a stake out there. When Nadia becomes the next victim, it becomes a major investigation. Finding the manufacturers and drug runners is a priority. As Superintendent Gregory Summers begins to delve into the mystery, it becomes clear that no one is quite who they seem to be. Fast paced and well written, with good clear characterisation; this is an enjoyable read. The identities of the perpetrators comes as a surprize. There are plenty of red herrings along the way, leaving you guessing until the very end. Definitely worth reading.
