Helen Powers career as a scene of crimes officer for West Midlands Police was shattered following the death of a young girl by a police informer. Refusing to be part of a cover up, Helen spoke out. Now working as a successful portrait photographer, Helen finds her life under threat. Someone is trying to kill her. Is it from her police past or what? Then her mother dies leaving unanswered questions. Why has her mother been paying out large sums of money? To solve the mystery, Helen has to dig into a buried past. The story whizzes along, fast moving and full of action. Characterisation is really good - Helen is a character with whom you can empathise, she really lives in the imagination. A good story worth reading. This is the first book by Eve Isherwood - and it bodes well for the future. I look forward to future stories by this promising author.
