Book Review: Seed Bead Fusion

By Sandy Amazeen Dec 8, 2009, 6:38 GMT

Test your beading skills by diving into these highly textured designs, many which start with a right angle weave base that is embellished with peyote stitch knobs. Admirers of Nelson-Smithís work will be delighted to find several variations of her popular Ootheca Cuff presented in several colorways. Wirework designs like the colorful Bhangra Fusion Bangle or Wire Chrysalis Necklace are easy enough for beginners to tackle with confidence. Most projects include a note about what inspired the design or helpful construction tips to aid assembly.

Each project includes a recipe style materials list, easy to understand written instructions and excellent close-up photography clearly showing the thread paths. Kudos to Interweave Press for their innovative and highly effective use of thumbnail layouts that offers readers a condensed view of the construction process. This would make a great gift and is sure to be a treasured addition to the beaderís library.
