USA Today describes the book as, “a blend of history, travelogue and journalism, revolving around Horwitz's adventures (and misadventures) in exploring the earliest and least-known encounters between Europeans and the natives, whom the English called ‘the Naturals.’” Horowitz, who is a Pulitzer Prize winning reporter, states that “he likes to get his hands dirty,” according to the article.
