Hunter S Thompson Takes His Last Trip

As spectacular as 'Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas' was, imho, it wa shis series for Rolling Stone, 'Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail', chronicling the 1972 runup to the Presidential election that energized a generation of rock music fans. RS had proabbly done a political analysis before Dr Thompson's opus, but I don't remember it.
After him, I'd never forget it.
Of course RS of 2005 is no match for RS of 1972, but, then again, neither are we. Farewell Hunter!
