Santiago - Chilean writer Isabel Allende vowed Thursday to write an erotic novel once her mother, Francisca Llona, dies and she rids herself of the sense of embarrassment that is typical of daughters.
'I have always thought that, some day, when my mum dies, I am going to write an erotic novel, because I love writing those scenes,' she told Chile's Radio Cooperativa.
When asked where she would get ideas for the text, the author of The House of the Spirits and City of the Beasts said she would draw on 'pure imagination, because from experience nobody does that well in bed.'
The biggest seller in Spanish-language literature was promoting her latest work, La isla bajo el mar (The Island under the Sea), a story on slavery and the obsession with freedom. Allende first thought of the story as she walked through New Orleans.
