Fourteen Vonnegut stories to be published posthumously

New York - Kurt Vonnegut, the author who died in 2007, will continue to surprise from the grave with the release of 14 previously unpublished short stories by Random House, the New York Times reported Thursday. The works are to be published as single-story e-books. The first story, Hello Red, is to be available as an e-book on August 25, and a second, The Petrified Ants, will be released September 29. The remaining titles are to be available on October 20. Vonnegut's most famous work was Slaughterhouse Five, published in 1969 at the height of the anti-Vietnam war movement. The book is a blend of science fiction and horrific descriptions derived from his own World War II experiences as a prisoner of war and a witness to the bombing of Dresden.
