Controversial novel is finally published

The AP notes that the controversial Shirley Jones novel titled “The Jewel of Medina” was published last Monday.

This book has been a pain to get into print. Random House originally agreed to publish it, but then “ backed out because of fears it would spark violence because of its provocative topic,” according to the article. The book instead has been picked up by Beaufort Books, a press that seems willing to take on other publishers’ rejects, provided it gets enough press coverage of course. Beaufort also published O.J. Simpson’s worthless crap book “If I Did It.” The article states that the author has not received any threats, thus far. Click here to read more.
