Sounds like a disturbing idea, but in this new book by Bob Morris called Assisted Loving: True Tales of Double Dating With My Dad, USA Today notes: “Morris has crafted a funny tale of a father and son who work through their often-rocky relationship while tracking down women. Or in the younger Morris' case, men.”
The reviewer goes on to state: “It's a charming, poignant book, filled with more than a few laughs for anyone who has ever had to deal with an elderly parent on the prowl. The photo of Joe Morris (who has since died) on the book cover — at the beach with sandwich in hand — pretty much sums up who the author had to deal with.”
The product description states: “With wicked humor and a dollop of compassion, Bob Morris gleefully explores the impact of senior parents on their boomer kids and the perils of dating at any age.”
Publishers Weekly gave a favorable review, noting: “Ultimately, the inspirational memoir captures all the needed laughs and emotions that go with love and life in the waning years of parent-child bonding.”
