The AP notes that singer Carly Simon did not find the recent biography, “Girls Like Us” easy to read because it “brought up things she didn’t want to remember,” Simon states in the article.
The book, written by Sheila Weller, interweaved the lives of Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Carole King.
“I think Sheila did a terrific job and the book is extremely interesting, but it brought back things that I didn't want to remember and from other people's voices,” Simon told the AP.
Simon also admits her break up with singer/songwriter James Taylor was “incredibly sad and difficult,” according to the article.
The article also notes that of the three singer/songwriters featured in “Girls Like Us,” Simon was the only one willing to speak to the author.
Weller “relied heavily on interviews with friends and family,” the article states.
