With how John McCain has been doing in the Republican race, publishers are eager to release more of his books as a means for what else? Selling them.
The AP notes that “publishers of books written by McCain are looking to take advantage of his remarkable rise since last summer, when his campaign appeared over.”
One of the books the article mentions is the paperback version of McCain’s book Hard Call. The article notes that the book did not gain as much attention as the publishers had hoped when it was first released on hardback.
Publishers Weekly has said, "Throughout, an insider's view provides keen insight on the caprices of history and more than a few echoes of current events, most importantly the interplay between personal experience and national destiny. Meticulously crafted, this collection will appeal to those who respect McCain's reputation as a maverick for whom "faith and courage" ranks among the most important forces in human history.
Likewise, McCain will not be the only one, as with the Democratic race—many readers will be seeking books on Hillary Clinton as well as Barack Obama.
One of the more popular books on Hillary is Carl Bernstein's A Woman in Charge.
