Spiderman fans in an uproar over Spidey and MJ marriage

USA Today reports that many Spiderman fans are upset at the recent comic issue Marvel has put out where according to the article, “n Amazing Spider-Man #545 last week, Peter and Mary Jane make a tearful deal with the devil-like character Mephisto: In exchange for saving Aunt May's life, Mephisto erases all traces of the Peter-Mary Jane marriage from memory.”The couple has been married for 21 years, and so for fans, they are finding this a difficult adjustment. Joe Quesada, Marvel's editor in chief, stated he was well aware that such a thing would be “controversial” for the comic world. Many have argued that a married Peter Parker is not as interested as a single Peter Parker, and that Marvel attempted several different storylines over the years, none which seem to have worked.
