J.K. Rowling fairy tale sells for what?
By M&C News Dec 14, 2007, 12:51 GMT
The AP notes that a handwritten and illustrated book of fairy tales by J.K. Rowling sold for nearly 4 million at auction.
The title is called The Tales of Beedle the Bard and the buyer now has only one of seven copies the article notes.
The article notes that the money will benefit The Children's Voice, a charity that Rowling co-founded with Baroness Nicholson.
"'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' is really a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books, and writing it has been the most wonderful way to say goodbye to a world I have loved and lived in for 17 years," Rowling is quoted saying in the article.
