AP writer Malcolm Ritter states that the recent book compiled by Charles Grodin, called If I Only Knew Then ... Learning From Our Mistakes basically tells us, “it's important to realize your mistakes and learn from them, says writer and actor Charles Grodin. So he asked more than 80 celebrities and other notable folks to describe their biggest boo-boos in life and the lessons they gained.”
He also states there isn’t much in it for the reader, since much of the “advice” seems to resemble banalities and clichés, as opposed to any real meat a reader can grab onto.
In the book you can find an excerpt from Pete Hamill, who has the best piece in the collection, according to Publishers Weekly.
Amazon’s book description provides a whole list of celebrities included in this collection. Otherwise, you can read the AP review here.
