Man criticizes educationalists who praise kids reading Harry Potter
By M&C News Sep 27, 2007, 10:30 GMT
"The ratings war is the curse of quality. They want popularity, not talent,” is one of the things that actor Ken Stott stated in the Scotsman.com news. And one would be hard pressed to not admit there is some truth to that.
He also stated in the article that if one is going to “make a fuss” over what kids are reading, Harry Potter should not be taken into account since he sees little to no educational value in the books.
There are also additional sources saying how publishers are whining about losing some of their revenue, after having come to depend on Harry to keep them afloat.
No sympathy from me. Click to read the article.

If Ken Stott realised how many children have started reading books since Harry Potter came on the scene I think he would be gratefull to JK Rowling.
Does he imagine that everyone starts life as an intellectual?
