In this latest John Grisham novel, called Playing For Pizza, Grisham returns to his love of Italy as well as football. In his 2003 novel called Beachers , readers saw glimmers of it, as well as in his 2005 hit The Broker .
USA Today calls the book, “Playing for Pizza showcases Grisham's ability to fill page after page with blow-by-blow descriptions of passes, fumbles and tackles with a choreographic gracefulness. Even non-football fanatics can appreciate the beauty of the language. He also can wax eloquent about cathedrals, art, music and food.”
But if you’ve never been a fan of Grisham for his potboiler, thriller style, this won’t be the book for you.
