Interview with Melrose Star Courtney Thorne-Smith about new novel

USA Today as a brief interview with Courtney Thorne-Smith, whose new novel, Outside In, will hit bookshelves this week. The novel deals with a soap opera actress and the Hollywood’s idea about body image.

She also has a character in the novel called ‘Sapphire Rose’ who is, “sort of the worst of every obnoxious person I've ever known, seen or heard of. She really is not anyone real,” Thorne-Smith states in the interview. She admits to enjoying her sitcom life with her co-star Jim Belushi on According to Jim. She states she much prefers the sitcom life because revealing her body for the camera—is not a requirement, as she thinks back to her days on Melrose Place and Ally McBeal.
